Under Rick’s guidance as CEO Doherty, Duggan, Hart, and Tiernan has experienced tremendous growth. DDHT has established itself as one of the premier insurance and risk management firms in Georgia and beyond. “We consider it a privilege to serve and partner with our clients. We have gained a reputation based on delivering business solutions and resources of value to our clients far beyond the mere transaction of insurance”. Rick received his BBA from the University of Georgia, Terry College of Business in 1978 where he is an Emeritus member of the alumni board of directors. In the inaugural year of the award, DDHT was recognized as a “Bulldog 100” honoree for being one of the 100 fastest growing businesses of a UGA graduate. Doherty currently serves on the advisory board of the Risk Management and Insurance School of the Terry College of Business, UGA. Doherty has served the insurance industry in many leadership roles currently serving as the 126th President of the Westfield Insurance Agents Association. Rick has a long served his community in various capacities including chairing the boards of the Albany Advocacy Resource Center and the Darton College Foundation. He currently is Chairman of the Phoebe Foundation Board of Directors. Rick and his wife, Pam, are lay leaders of Sunday Evening With The Neighbors a ministry serving downtown Albany. He is also involved in Kairos Prison Ministry serving in Calhoun State Prison.
